Meta Assets - most common issues and how to resolve them

This article describes the most common problems associated with Meta Assets and how to resolve them.

This article is relevant for all subscriptions.

The Most Common Issues Associated with Meta Assets:

1. instagram_actor_id must be a valid Instagram account id

Description: An Instagram account ID was used instead of an Instagram actor ID.

Error code: 100

Solution: Please contact your account manager. The Future Demand team will make the necessary adjustments for you.

  • Replace the Instagram account ID with the Instagram actor ID.

  • Make sure Instagram accounts are not added after connecting Meta assets, and if some are already added, remove them and only keep Instagram user IDs.

2. Update payment method: Visit the billing and payment centre to add a valid payment method.

Description: Payment method is not valid or has been expired

Error code: 100

Error subcode: 1359188

Solution:

3. Advertising function currently restricted. OR: Advertising currently limited. OR: Ad can't be published due to subscription

Description: Advertising is restricted, either as a result of violating Facebook's advertising policies or due ad tier preferences.

Error code: 100

Error subcode: 3858233, 3858231, 3858412

4. The account does not have access to the pixel

Description: The account does not have access to the pixel.

Error code: 200

Error subcode: 1815045

Solution:

5. Ad account does not have access to Instagram account

Error code: 200

Error subcode: 1815199

Solution:

  • Associate an Instagram account with an ad account

  • Connect an Instagram account to a Facebook Page

  • If the user used Facebook Login to connect their assets on the webapp, they might need to:

    • Use the Logout button on the webapp settings page.

    • Log in again using the correct Facebook account.

    • Make sure the Facebook Page are selected in Facebook's authorisation dialog.

    • The Instagram page will appear automatically in the Instagram Page section Facebook's authorisation is successful.

    • Always make sure the client edits their previous authorisation settings in the authorisation dialog by clicking on the Edit my previous settings button.

    • Add Instagram Pages is not necessary anymore, as adding a Facebook Page with a connected Instagram account will automatically add the Instagram Page, and should be the only way to connect Instagram Pages.

6. An Instagram page does not get listed after connecting the Facebook Page

Solution:

  • Follow the steps in the previous issue.

7. Advertising account has too many API calls

Description: User has reached the limit of API calls.

Error code: 17

Error subcode: 2446079

Solution:

  • Wait for at least 1 hour before retrying.

8. Object with ID '...' does not exist, cannot be loaded due to missing permissions, or does not support this operation. Please read the Graph API documentation at

Description: Lack of permissions to access the object.

Error code: 100

Error subcode: 33

Solution:

  • Users should check/check with their account admin that they have the necessary permissions to access the object.

  • User should check their role in the Business Manager. An admin or advertiser role is required to publish ads.

  • The user must reconnect on the web app if they have changed their role in the Business Manager.

9. Deactivated accounts cannot create or edit adverts

Description: The account is not active or has an invalid payment method.

Error code: 100

Error subcode: 1885316

Solution:

10. Error validating access token: The session has been invalidated because the user changed their password or Facebook has changed the session for security reasons.

Description: The user has changed their password or Facebook has changed the session for security reasons.

Solution:

  • The user must reconnect on the web app.

  • The user is recommended to connect regularly to avoid this issue (every 60 days).

11. An ad account or page does not appear in the list of assets in the Facebook authorisations dialog during Facebook Login, even though the user claims to have access to it.

Solution:

  • Make sure the user has the necessary roles in the Business Manager.

  • The assets listed in the Facebook authorisation dialog are fully managed by Facebook, and whether they appear or not is out of our control.

12. A previously Active asset is showing as Inactive on the web app

Solution:

  • The user must make sure they have the necessary permissions to access the asset and reconnect on the web app.
