Custom Property Queries in Sentinel: For More Insights
This article is relevant for: FD Live Professional
We are thrilled to announce a powerful new feature in Sentinel: you can now use custom properties directly in your queries for more insights about your customers. This enhancement allows for precise filtering based on the specific data you’ve shared with us, such as for example loyalty points or opt-in / opt-out statuses.
How It Works
Custom properties derived from your provided data can now be easily referenced in natural-language queries. For example:
- “Show me customers whose custom property of loyalty_points is equal to 100.”
Sentinel will return exactly the customers that match the value specified.
Important Guidelines for Using Custom Properties
To ensure accurate results, please follow these key recommendations:
-
Always use the term "custom property":
This ensures Sentinel knows which data column to reference.
Example: “Show me customers whose custom property of loyalty_points is lower than 100.” -
Be precise with label names:
- Labels must match the custom property name exactly, including case sensitivity.
- For instance, use
Loyalty_points
(as provided) instead ofloyalty points
.
Sample Queries You Can Try
- Show me customers whose custom property of sms_opt_in is true (clients agreed to receive sms)
- Show me customers whose custom property of loyalty_points is greater than 100.
- Give me the customers that live in Germany and whose custom property of favorite_color is blue, red or green and custom property of sms_opt_in is true
- Show me customers who attended 0 events in 2024 and whose custom property of loyalty_points is greater than 100. (Event date, not transaction date, must fall in 2024.)
If a query isn’t working as expected, check the label names for accuracy and ensure the term "custom property" is included.
Custom Properties Source
