Advanced settings in Backhaul

When creating a package in Backhaul, you have the option to use advanced settings to narrow down your customer list. This allows you to include or exclude certain types of customers from the final customer list generated by Backhaul. These settings are optional.

There are four different categories to specify the segmentation:

  1. Customer: You can choose to include or exclude specific customer IDs from the list generated by Backhaul. If you include customer IDs, those customers will be added to the list. If you exclude customer IDs, those customers will be removed from the list.

For example, if you don’t want customer with customer ID (123:abc, 456:xyz) to appear in the list, click the ‘Exclude’ button. Then, by selecting the ‘Customer IDs’ button, you can input the specific customer IDs. Following this, you'll need to match those IDs with our records by clicking on the ‘Match IDs’ button. Only the successfully matched IDs will be excluded from the list.

Note: For customer inclusion or exclusion, the provided IDs must match our records. If they don't match, they won't be considered for further processing.

  2. Purchase Date Exclusion: You can exclude customers who bought tickets exclusively either before or after a certain date.

For example, if you don't want customers who bought tickets before 10 May 2024 to appear in the list, click the ‘Before’ button and select 10.05.2024 from the date picker.

Note: The exclusion applies solely to customers who exclusively purchased tickets either before or after a specified date. For example, based on the previous scenario, if a customer bought two tickets (one on 15.04.2024 and another on 20.06.2024), they will not be excluded because they made a purchase after the specified date. However, if a customer bought two tickets (one on 15.04.2024 and another on 20.04.2024), they will be excluded because they made all the purchases before the specified date.

  3. Price Sensitivity Exclusion: You can exclude customers who have purchased tickets above or below a certain price at least once.

For example, if you don’t want customers who bought tickets above 35 EUR to appear in the list, click the ‘Above’ button and add 35 as the price point.

  4. Ticket Category Exclusion: You can exclude customers based on specific ticket categories.

For example, if you don’t want customers with free and subscription ticket category to appear in the list, select the ‘Free’ and ‘Subscription’ categories from the dropdown menu. The customers who bought only free or only subscription tickets ever will be excluded from the list.

Note: By default, the free category is selected, but if you prefer not to exclude customers within that category, you can simply remove it by clicking the cross button.

Note: The ticket categories mentioned here refer to those that FD automatically generates based on rules. You can find more information regarding the ticket categories in the following article: Which ticket categories does Future Demand have
