General Recommendations

Our tool uses the videos and images you upload when setting up a campaign. No editing will be done, and the same video or image will appear in your ads on Meta. In general, it's best to avoid using videos that are too long. Shorter, more impactful content tends to perform better, although this may vary depending on the situation.

It's a good practice to follow topic recommendations. For example, if a taste cluster focuses on a musical instrument, the media you add should reflect that theme. If a taste cluster is related to an artist, it’s logical to include photos of that artist. Similarly, if the cluster is dedicated to an atmosphere, such as an event, adding images of the location, venue, or hall is appropriate.

Important: The more variety in your media, the more options you'll have for A/B testing, leading to better results due to the data we collected over the last years. For example: Try to have not just studio images but also images on stage, from the location and a mixture of videos and images if possible.

What Formats Should You Use?
For Facebook and Instagram posts, a 1:1 aspect ratio is recommended for both images and videos, as this displays well on both desktop and mobile devices. This ensures your content is visually appealing and correctly formatted across platforms.

For reels and stories, a 9:16 aspect ratio is required.

If the media you upload doesn’t fit this aspect ratio, it may lead to cut media or cause an error. To ensure proper placement across different formats, use both 1:1 and 9:16 aspect ratios.

Please note: Reels and stories placements do not include text or headlines. This is a specification from Meta and can not be changed.

The algorithm detects automatically which format fits which placement and will automatically and will allocate the right media to the right placement.

Maximum Media Size for Campaigns
To ensure optimal performance and comply with platform restrictions, there are limits to the size and quantity of media you can upload. You can upload a maximum of 10 media files (images and videos) per taste cluster.

For best results, we recommend:

  • The maximum file size for images is 30 MB, and for videos, it is 1 GB (except for reels and stories: 30 MB)
  • File type should be:
    • for image → JPG, PNG
    • for video → MP4, MoV
  • Due to Meta restrictions the length of a video can not be longer than 240 min. for feed videos and 15 sec. for story/reel videos.
  • Videos should have a minimum frame rate of 30 frames per second.
  • For Instagram and Facebook Feeds upload highest resolution media possible. There is no minimum and maximum resolution requirement from Meta.
  • The resolution should be within the following ranges for Reels/Stories (Images and Videos)
    • Vertical (9:16):

      • Minimum Resolution: 600x1067 pixels

      • Maximum Resolution: 1080x1920 pixels

Recommendations:

  • Media can be exchanged, but no additional files can be added after the campaign is published. If you know that you have to add videos or images after the campaign started insert the same image or video various times and exchange it afterwards.
  • Using text on ad images is basically fine. However, we recommend using as little text as possible (max. 10% of the image surface). In addition, it is important to make sure that the text is placed as centrally as possible on the graphic so that it is not cut off when adjusting per ad.
