The information in this article is intended to provide helpful insights about Meta processes. Please note that we do not control these processes, so for any related issues, it's best to reach out to Meta directly or check out the following article from the Meta Support: Regaining access to your page
It's not uncommon that for the moment we need access to your marketing assets, to realize that the person who originally set up the Facebook account may no longer be with the company. If it's not clear who set up the account and what the credentials are, then there's no way to connect your Ad account to your Business account or link the Facebook account to your Ad account. And this is necessary if you want to advertise on Facebook.
In order to regain admin rights for the Business account and thus the Facebook account, there is the possibility to submit a request for admin rights to Meta Support. This works by:
- either contact Meta-Support yourself via the Ad account to which the Facebook account is to be linked at the end of the process
- or, if you don't have an Ad account yet, we will contact Meta-Support for you and submit the request on your behalf
In both cases, it is important that you know the ID of the Facebook account and the Business account.
In order to apply for admin rights, you will need some documents. In any case, allow some time to gather all the necessary information.
Meta Support needs the following information from you:
1. a copy of a valid photo ID (e.g. current driver's license or passport) of the person signing the statement. The different types of IDs that Facebook accepts can be found in the Help Section:
https://www.facebook.com/help/159096464162185?ref=cr
2. A signed statement from a person with sufficient knowledge and authority in this matter that includes all of the following:
a) A description of your relationship with the Company (including the authority to request a change in the person(s) managing the account, if applicable).
b) If applicable, the name(s) of the current person(s) managing the Company account.
c) The relationship of the person(s) named above to the site.
d) An explanation of your request and, if applicable, the termination of employment and/or business relationship with the person(s) named.
e) Any documentation supporting your request
f) The Facebook account or email address of the Facebook account to be added as a new administrator in Business Manager.
g) A statement that the information you have provided is true and correct (e.g., "I certify that the information provided is true and correct") - your statement must include similar language.
h) The amount of the last three invoices on the advertising accounts the company owns plus the last 4 digits on the credit card + expiration date.
It is important that the above points are deposited in a handwritten signed document / PDF.
3. A business license or official document of the company.
4. the first and the last 4 digits of the payment method that is stored in the Business Manager.
If you are not able to attach one or more of the above attachments to the application, it is important to include an explanation of the reason for the missing attachments.
Once you have collected everything and packed it into a PDF, send the application directly to Meta Support. It usually takes 1 to 2 days before you hear back whether your application has been approved or something is still missing. If you don't hear from Meta-Support, it's definitely worth asking again.
